Sunday Stills

Note: this title is not mine. It belongs to National Geographic. Every Sunday I receive an email in my inbox from National Geographic with this title. It is always full of pictures of people from other places and what often looks like other times. (photo by Sherry Lawson- Ethiopia)

On this particular Sunday Mason decided to dress in one of my dresses. At one point he was sitting in a little stream of light coming through the curtain. For a moment, the way he was wearing my dress and his serious face and the lighting on him reminded me of National Geographic. Unfortunately I am not of the same caliber, but it was still fun taking pictures of him and Morgie. So here’s some randomness. haha!

Anyway- it was a lot of fun just taking pictures. It’s been a while since I really have.

The Stevens’ Family Version of a Family Photo Shoot

I’m going to let Calvin and Hobbes do the summary for this post…

How Rob Feels...

…that is exactly how all the male members of my family feel…

Now, as far as taking the actual pictures:

Now…please just smile and keep your clothes on while we take pictures with mom/dad…

Although it was frustrating at times, there was also a lot of silliness and a lot of fun Smile

And that’s ok, because we’re kinda a silly family anyway!

We ended the day at the Lion House; it was DELICIOUS!

Parent’s Day at Tumbling

Perhaps I shall try blogging again.

Last fall I put Mason in a little tumbling class at Bravo. Morgan was SUPER jealous so I enrolled him in a 2-3 yr old music/tumbling/dance class. It’s pretty stinkin’ cute. Anyway, every couple of months they have a “Parent Day” where you can sit in the classroom the last 15 minutes and watch.

Note: the 2-3 yr old class has, in fact, been taught a cute little dance…although to watch the boys you would never know it. Good thing for girls!

I apologize for the poor quality of the video…I have a hard time telling if it’s truly in focus or not, and then when I try to fix it I take it completely out of focus and…ya… sorry. Still a cute video though.

The Funny Things They Say

I know I am 5 months behind on my blog. I know; but there have been just a couple funny things my kids have said in the past week I want to remember. So, without further ado, our first one comes from Mason about a week ago. My neighbor and friend kindly agreed to come shopping with me and the kids. She picked up Mason and went to throw him over her shoulder when he started screaming-

Mason: No! No don’t do that!

Friend: But I was going to wrestle you. Aren’t you a strong wrestler?

Mason: No. I am just a city kid. I just live in the big city. I am not a wrestler.

Point taken.

Number 2: This one comes from Morgan while on Thanksgiving vacation. One morning he decided to come visit Rob and I while we were still asleep. He sneaks up to the bed, crawls over me, and while looking at Rob says,

Mom?

Me: Yes

Mom, where’s the other guy?

Me (laughing): you mean dad?

No where’s the other guy?

Huh. Apparently I’ve been having an affair but don’t get the pleasure of remembering it.

Number 3: This one came from Mason…tonight…

Me: Do you want to tell dad what you did at preschool today? Who is your friend?

Mason: I love Kenlee. I’m going to marry her. Then I will take her to Las Vegas, Nevada where I work and we will have 10 babies.

Oh really? And does Kenlee know that because I’m pretty sure she’d have something to say about it…

They are good little buddies.
