Just so you can all be jealous (actually, just so I can always remember)- here is a recap of all the birthday shenanigans Rob has done for me:
2007- Shopping at Park City outlets with a surprise birthday dinner up Provo canyon with my family. The next day Rob, my sisters, my friends Jeff, Troy, Rich, and Josh all went boating at Bear Lake; of course followed by shakes!
2008- A 100 percent total surprise cruise with my sister Lydia!!! When Rob and I lived in Logan we used to drive to work together in the morning. He would drop me off and then continue on to Icon. This year he drove in to my work, drove out again, and then started heading towards Sardines. In the middle he finally let told me he was taking me to the airport where I would fly to San Diego. Lyd would be waiting for me and there we would hop the cruise ship for a couple days in Cabo!
2009- A trip to Washington with my mom. This was wonderful because Rob was starting his new job and we were in the middle of moving so he cleaned our apartment in Logan and got everything moved to Ogden.
2010- A night out without the kids to dinner and Brad Paisley concert!!! It was at Usana amphitheater (sp?) and Dierks Bentley (sp?) was the opening act. It was so awesome! Plus he got me A LOT of piano music I had been wanting.
2011- A day out without the kids to Boondocks and dinner and shopping. Boondocks is where we had our 2nd date, so he was trying to recreate it. He didn’t recreate our first date because it involved urine and other things he knew weren’t at the top of my priority list for that day…
2012- Washington!!! Which was supposed to be a total surprise, but I accidentally (no really, it was an accident) found out about it a day-and-half before. I flew to Seattle Thursday night. That night Lyd and I stayed up way too late watching ‘The Hunger Games’. I loved it though because I knew my kids weren’t going to start crying and interrupt it. And it made me feel like I was young and in college again going to the late night show. haha!
Friday we went to the WA State Fair with Paige and Ethan. Ate some of the best BBQ ever! (And I totally forgot to bring my battery that was charging at Lyd’s place so these were all taken with the phone).
That night we drove to Richland where Rob’s bro and family live, and where the rest of my family was (they had driven up the night before).
Saturday was a day out with just the girls! Brit was kind enough to let us groove in the topless Mustang.
First stop was the mall for new sandals and a pedicure. And yes, now I’m going to show you a picture of my feet so if you are squeamish please keep scrolling.
Lunch at PF Changs, Target, more mall, and then down to the river…where we watched this dude trying to learn how to wake-board. He was swearing up a storm. We were laughing.
Sorry for the random pictures. I’ll try and stay on topic. Brit and Lyd relaxed while I went off to take random pictures... So, actually randomness is on topic so… too bad for all of you.
PS. The baby is my sister’s…who is the one in black. And usually I HATE putting pics of myself up, but I have decided it is ok because when I look in the mirror I don’t feel like I look quite that…big. haha! Anyway, then it was back to Brit’s house to see the kids- I was starting to really miss them.
June and Mogran had a great M&M thing going for them…where June would give Morgan M&Ms and he would eat them w/o giving anything in return. All the kids had fun taking turns holding Baby Ethan. Mason really liked him. Turn the vids up pretty loud to hear what he is saying:
After the kids were in bed Brit, Lyd, and I watched “So You Think You Can Dance” and pigged out in one room while the guys watched the BYU UT game in another room. That was honestly one of my very favorite parts of the entire trip! After the game Rob, Clayton and the boys headed back for home. Lyd and I stayed and got some fabulous sleep then headed back to Seattle the next day after some church.
Sunday night we got to spend with our very dear friends the Thornton’s watching movies and eating ice cream. When we got back to Lyd’s, Paige showed us her dance moves:
And took some pics of her and Ethan (sorry, this is mostly for Grandma and Grandpa’s benefits): The pictures of the other baby is our friends the Thorntons.
The next day we went to look at the house Lyd and Nick are buying. I didn’t think I’d get to see the inside, but right as we were about to put the kids in the car to leave, the seller’s real estate agent pulled up! So I got to see the inside too- and it is BEAUTIFUL!!! Can’t wait to go stay in it sometime. I took a bunch of pictures of Paige outside of the house. They can be seen here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.423837817678791.96585.100001577294066&type=3.
Anyway…I had such a blast. Thank you to everyone for making it a possibility. I know there is just A LOT of pics and information in here, but grandparents like to see :). I had high hopes of editing all my pictures, but after doing 30 of the over 500 I took, it was just taking too much time. haha! Thanks for stopping by :)
