Next I wanted to take a moment to brag. After spending two years in graduate school; passing a huge test; working two years at an exempt level in the field; and receiving two letters of recommendation, I received my Professional in Human Resources certification/designation! This means if I ever have the desire to feel important I can write PHR after my name. haha!-jk. No it also means more doors for job opportunities and salaries have opened up if and when I ever needed to return to work. I have to keep it up by attending classes and staying current on HR topics which is something I look forward to. I had a lot of fun working and volunteering in HR over the years and this has been kind of a closure (while still giving me something to do) for me as I take on the duties of being home with beautiful kids. Side note: Here is something else you may not know (even he doesn’t know). One of the main reasons I gave Rob a chance (haha-jk) is when he met me he asked what I was studying. When I told him HR he made a joke about it which proved he knew exactly what HR was and what they do. This was significant to me because I have found (surprisingly) that most people have no idea what HR is, and I’m SO glad that Rob knew so I would give him a chance and have the wonderful life I have now. It pays to be informed!
Last is DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING. My mom gave me Publisher for Christmas so I recently tried out scrapbooking with it. I had an absolute blast! It was so easy and so inexpensive and so fun that I decided to call in the experts to help me. My friend Taryn has graciously agreed to show me Photoshop and the in-and-outs of scrapbooking. Below is a sample of what I did with publisher. It is a page of him and his cousin Logan. They are only a couple months apart which will be tons of fun when they are a little bit older! I’m SOO excited to see what I learn/do at Taryn’s and will post the updates afterwards.
