The 4th, Friends, and Family

Every year one of my dearest friends (and the best roomy you could have) has invited Rob and I to celebrate the 4th with her and her family. Every year I’ve had to say no because we were going somewhere- but not this year! For the first time in our marriage, Rob and I didn’t go ANYWHERE for the 4th of July- and you know what? It was so much fun! Mason was most excited about the candy.

Morgan and Rob were most excited about the horses and riders.

And apparently Mason’s heart is in his stomach…

That afternoon we tried to be adventurous and out-doorsy by going on a hike. Turns out the middle of the afternoon on a hot July day and no trees in site is not the time or place. I took one picture to show the excitement on their faces…

The afternoon might not of been nice, but the evening sky was…

I love fireworks so much! But just before that… We went to the same friend’s house for a BBQ and pre-firework fun.

Ok. Brief pause in the pictures. I don’t know why Morgan is only in a diaper and sandals here. I do know, that at one point earlier in the evening he was in this same apparel when Rob gave him some Root Beer. He dumped the root beer into his diaper and so had a pool between his diaper and belly. I think the only thing that could have made me feel more white trash/red necked at the moment is if it would have been actual beer instead of just root beer. 4th Fireworks (27)  4th Fireworks (31) 4th Fireworks (36) 4th Fireworks (44) 4th Fireworks (48) 4th Fireworks (57) 4th Fireworks (77)  4th Fireworks (84) 4th Fireworks (91) 4th Fireworks (99)

Hahaha! I love the excitement on Mason’s face for the fireworks! He made sure everyone knew that a firework was going off and what color it was and any other detail you would need to know ;) Morgan, on the other hand, was a little…poop. That’s a nice way to put it. We were supposed to have met up with some other friends for fireworks but he was being so ornery that Rob spent almost an hour trying to put him down at Hall’s; by the time we realized that wasn’t going to work it was too late to drive to Clearfield. Sorry guys! It’s ok though because we had SO MUCH FUN!

I think that covered the 4th and friends part- now for the family. Last weekend was my Grand-dad’s birthday. He turned 83. We had a little family reunion to celebrate with him. Aren’t they cute?!

I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking. Mostly the kids played with the air rockets my mom brought, and the “men” played tennis. Well, some of them. I took a lot of pictures of the two 3 yr olds. A lot. Something about their chubby little cheeks and cute little noses and big eyes. Hahaha!

Mostly he spun around in circles.

Afterwards my family was kind enough to go for a ride up the canyon so we could try and get our boys to sleep…and to see if there was anything to take pictures of.
